Kim Mulligan has been riding her entire life. From breaking babies on the track - to competing at the Grand Prix level - Kim has the knowledge, expertise and training to help horses and riders reach their full potential. Kim built her business from the ground up, learning the ropes from those she admired, including Leslie Burr Howard, Michael Kirby, and Ken Whelihan.
In 2005, Kim founded Twin Bays Stables and recently purchased a professional equestrian property in Easton, CT where she plans to expand her growing Hunter / Jumper /Equestrian barn. While most folks are used to seeing Kim in the jumper ring on her horse "Lily" aka TBS Rolls the Dice, she recently stepped into the hunter ring to try her hand at International Derbies. This spring, the duo won the Saratoga Horse Show $10,000 USHJA International Hunter Derby.

I was born in Bronxville NY but grew up in FAirfield, Ct. I attended Knox School in St. James, Long Island and rode with Harry De Leyer(snowman). I received my BA from Skidmore College, and an MBA from NYU. Before going into the horse business, I was a portfolio analyst for Merrill Lynch in New York.
I owned and operated Buttonwood Farms in Easton, Ct. Buttonwood which evolved from my love of riding and my husband's enjoyment in training. We started as a three stall barn that we built ourselves with two of our own horses and one customer. We then started buying and selling young horses from the race track and ended up keeping many that we sold so their training with us could continue. We added stalls and people, trailers, and equipment, paddocks lights and sprinklers. We were in the horse business.
I still love to teach and train. I am an A rated judge in hunters, hunt seat equitation and jumpers. While my primary venue was the hunter/jumper world, since the death of my long time customer and friend, Shelly Arnhold, I have changed my emphasis to eventing. This provides an easier competitive arena for many of my customers. I still have a project horse of my own that I have taken from beginner novice to training.
Going forward, I have decreased the amount of horses at the farm, and am happy to teach and train. I serve as President of the CHJA, and serve on the Zone 1 Committee and am the chairman of the Zone 1 Horse show.
